Before heading to the airport

• Shave your private hair.
• Apply perfume.
• Perform a good ghusl bath.
• Head out with Bismillah.

On the plane

Intention

• Say “Labbaik Allahumma Umrah” on the plane when the announcement is made that you are flying over the Meeqat.
• Once you say that, you are in the state of IHRAM!

Now you cannot

• Apply perfume.
• Engage in marital relations.
• Remove hair or nails.
• Wear sewn clothes (for men).
• Wear niqab or gloves (for women). (You can cover your face with your scarf.)
• Hunt. (Not something you'd likely do anyway.)
